How I cracked the code on subscriber engagement (and you can too).
In 2019, I was lost. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong, but nothing I was doing with my list was converting into sales.
After 6 months, I had tried everything I could, shy of jumping out of planes and off cliffs, to grow my email list to get new subscribers in.
These also weren’t converting. And honestly, I hated the social media hamster wheel I was on just to grow the list.
In 2020, I decided to engage deeper with my list by asking them a few questions about who they were and what they wanted me to help with.
In June 2020, I wrote a quick survey asking new subscribers a few simple, easy-to-answer, multiple choice questions.
Maybe you’ve seen a version of these today.
I wanted to attract online business owners who were ideal for my new service, Book A Day.
Within a few weeks, I had steadily booked 3-5 of these per month.
I noticed there was a piece of the audience interested in learning how to write more emails, something I didn’t do, but I could be an affiliate for.
Here are the results just from the “write more emails” segment in the second half of 2020.
I had landed a new revenue stream that I didn’t even need to maintain or deliver.
This worked for my own products.
This past March/April I re-launched Creator Quick Start to a segment of just 208 subscribers.
